2023 Theme: BE - Be Leaders! -

Be the leader who uses personal strengths and talents to collaborate and communicate effectively with others to build lasting change and impact on our councils, schools, and community. To BE is to hone our strengths, develop skills, and transform ideas into action, all occurring at the workshop.

We need real leaders to meet the needs of our schools and community. The role of a leader in any community or organization is crucial, and this holds particularly true for schools. Effective leadership can have a tremendous impact on student achievement, teacher morale, and overall community involvement. It is essential to have leaders who possess the necessary qualities, such as vision, empathy, and a willingness to listen to the concerns of others. Such leaders can inspire and motivate individuals to work towards common goals, foster a positive and inclusive environment, and make decisions that benefit the community as a whole. Therefore, it is crucial to build real leaders who can meet the needs of our schools and community, understand the challenges faced by individuals, and work towards creating a better future.

TASC provides high-quality and significant value summer leadership workshops to student councils in Texas. The success of the workshop program depends on the adults who give their time and talents each summer. The roles of the director and the consultant, although very different, are vital to accomplishing the goals and objectives of this TASC program.

Student council advisors with the skills, interest, and time to serve in this capacity are encouraged to participate in the training program. TASC is interested in developing adult leaders who are willing to commit to student leadership instruction through TASC.

  • The TASC workshop experience establishes A POWERFUL STUDENT VOICE
Student leaders want to contribute, be involved, and improve. Some are natural leaders, but for most students, leadership is acquired through instruction and experiences. A desire to serve is the common denominator. Students come together to understand the passion that calls them and to cultivate their leadership voice.
  • The TASC workshop experience creates A CIRCLE OF ADVISORS DEDICATED TO STUDENT LEADERS
Join teachers fulfilled by helping students achieve their potential and Student Councils find a voice. Experience the TASC advisor network to receive training and guidance. Exceed the basic standard of student council operation in your school.
  • The TASC workshop experience connects PROVIDERS OF LEADERSHIP ESSENTIALS
Discover the road map for student council success through in-depth training and experiential learning activities. Student council experts deliver relevant world-class curricula and resources. Please note that some workshops are limited in the number of people who can attend. Registration is online. There is a $100 fee for changes by a set deadline (one month before the workshop), and there are no refunds after the registration deadline (one month before the workshop). You may register for the number you are sure of and add students later for no additional fee if there is room.
  • Registration for an onsite summer leadership workshop includes room (dorm), meals, supplies, and training. No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations after the deadline (one month before the first day of the workshop.) Refunds will not be provided for workshop no-shows, regardless of the situation. There is one day during which attendees have the afternoon and early evening free. Attendees must pay for their meals and costs for whatever they choose to do during that free time.
Adding Additional Delegates to existing registration: Register them on a NEW registration form. An invoice is created separately. (System does not combine separate entries into one invoice.)
  • We ask that delegates register a month before the workshop to give directors time to create room assignments, etc.   Registration will close two weeks before the workshops.  If you need to add students or register late, contact the workshop director.  If there is space, the director can work with TASC to reopen your registration briefly.
