2023 Theme: BE - Be Leaders! -
Be the leader who uses personal strengths and talents to collaborate and communicate effectively with others to build lasting change and impact on our councils, schools, and community. To BE is to hone our strengths, develop skills, and transform ideas into action, all occurring at the workshop.
We need real leaders to meet the needs of our schools and community. The role of a leader in any community or organization is crucial, and this holds particularly true for schools. Effective leadership can have a tremendous impact on student achievement, teacher morale, and overall community involvement. It is essential to have leaders who possess the necessary qualities, such as vision, empathy, and a willingness to listen to the concerns of others. Such leaders can inspire and motivate individuals to work towards common goals, foster a positive and inclusive environment, and make decisions that benefit the community as a whole. Therefore, it is crucial to build real leaders who can meet the needs of our schools and community, understand the challenges faced by individuals, and work towards creating a better future.
TASC provides high-quality and significant value summer leadership workshops to student councils in Texas. The success of the workshop program depends on the adults who give their time and talents each summer. The roles of the director and the consultant, although very different, are vital to accomplishing the goals and objectives of this TASC program.
Student council advisors with the skills, interest, and time to serve in this capacity are encouraged to participate in the training program. TASC is interested in developing adult leaders who are willing to commit to student leadership instruction through TASC.
TASC has four onsite workshops, one Virtual Student Workshop, and one virtual Advisor Workshop scheduled for the summer of 2023.
Onsite Workshops: Councils may register up to 18 students in 2023.
Virtual Workshops: Councils may register up to 20 students in 2023.
Advisors, if you are interested in serving on staff, contact the workshop director.
