TASC Junior Counselor Positions »

TASC SUMMER LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP JUNIOR COUNSELOR SELECTION

An integral part of the TASC Summer Workshop experience is the role of the JC (Junior Counselor). JCs are expected to model high standards of behavior, interact with workshop delegates, work closely with the Workshop Consultant and Director by leading activities on stage and working behind the scenes to ensure the success of the workshop.

TASC ADVANCED LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP JUNIOR COUNSELOR SELECTION

High school students are given the opportunity to serve as Junior Counselors at either of the Advanced Leadership Workshops. (Lakeview or Mo-Ranch) It is highly recommended that applicants have experience with the Summer Workshop Program as JCs or delegates and have a solid record of participation in TASC state and district events and activities. Students must be currently enrolled in a high school. JC's are selected based on a point system.

If a student is applying for both Summer and Advanced, both applications must be completed. An advisor’s recommendation can apply to both. These applications must be submitted online via the TASC website no later than December 1. The advisor should submit the application.


 

TASC Senior Scholarship »

In recognition of the enormous contributions of many students to the Student Council programs, the Texas Association of Student Councils will recognize five outstanding graduating seniors with college scholarships. The amount of each scholarship will be $1,000. Individual councils may nominate no more than two applicants. Completed applications must be submitted online via the TASC website by December 1.

All sections must be submitted to the advisor who can upload the application via the TASC website. All materials should be scanned and uploaded as one document.

U.S. Senate Youth Application »

The United States Senate Youth Programestablished in 1962 by U.S. Senate Resolution, is a unique educational experience for outstanding high school students interested in pursuing careers in public service. Two students from each state will be selected to attend the online program and each will receive a $10,000 undergraduate college scholarship. Students must attend the entirety of the program to receive the scholarship.

Texas students must submit the completed application and supporting documentation to TASSP/TASC by October 1, 2021. The primary purposes of the qualifying leadership position must be a representation of a constituency and service to others. A student who graduates high school at the close of the fall semester / quarter is not eligible to apply for the program. Only one application per school will be accepted. See the USSYP Brochure and 2021-2022 Texas application for qualifications and submission requirements.
