WHAT TO BRING
All students and advisors will need to bring a willingness to learn and an open mind to new adventures. All advisors will be an active part of the workshop with their students throughout the day.

WORKSHOP DRESS AND CLOTHING
TASC requires that all students and adults participating in the summer workshop program dress appropriately for a school-based summer activity. Workshop dress is casual, but must conform to an appropriate model of decency. The following dress code specifications apply to students and advisors of both genders:
• Jeans/pants and t-shirts are highly encouraged as the primary dress preference.
• Shorts are NOT permitted at most TASC conferences or workshops held during the school year, but we do relax that for the one day workshops as long as shorts are mid-thigh or longer.
• Shorts are permitted at summer programs but must be mid-thigh or longer.
• Skirts/dresses are permitted at all events but must be mid-thigh or longer.
• Strapless or spaghetti strapped dresses or tops are not permitted at TASC events.
• Caps or hats are not to be worn when inside a building.
• All shirts must have sleeves.

Workshop staff will address issues of inappropriate dress on an individual basis. If the workshop director determines that dress is in violation of common decency, then the student/advisor will be expected to comply with the request to correct the issue or be in violation of TASC policy. Bring a pair of tennis shoes, because some activities will require them.

CELL PHONES AND ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Since both of these items are disruptive and costly, they are highly discouraged. Neither TASC nor the host school will be responsible for the loss of these items and we suggest that students not bring these to the workshop. Students and advisors who carry cell phones should not make nor accept calls during workshop activities.

ILLNESS
Illnesses should be reported to the Director immediately through your hometown advisor. Medical release forms brought by the advisor important to our efforts to provide you with medical assistance in the unlikely event of an emergency. If medical attention is needed, an Emergency Room or Immediate Care Clinic will be used at student expense. Parents will be contacted immediately.

ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES
The use or possession of alcohol, tobacco or other illegal drugs is strictly prohibited. Any student found in the possession or under the influence of these substances will be sent home from the workshop without delay at the expense of the student, his/her parents or the student’s school.

WORKSHOP SAFETY
Delegates are expected to respect the rights and safety of others. Weapons of any type are strictly prohibited at TASC functions. Any person found in the possession of an item used as weapon or exhibiting irresponsible behavior that endangers the health, safety, or welfare of him/herself or others will be sent home from the workshop without delay at the expense of the student, his/her parents or the student’s school.
